Southside Christian School has an open position for High School English for the 2021-2022 school year. Specific course and grade level assignments will depend on the strengths of the candidate and course registration for the upcoming year. The teacher must be able to manage a classroom effectively, teach with excellence, and create an engaging, relational, and joy-filled learning environment with students. The applicant must demonstrate excellence in planning, teamwork, and communication. We want teachers who are willing to be creative, have a strong work ethic, can think "outside the box," and are able to work effectively as part of a team. Applicants experienced in teaching English with biblical integration and engaging inquiry activities are preferred. Candidates must be willing to obtain ACSI certification. All applicants must be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ; be involved in an evangelical, protestant church of like faith and practice; and be in agreement with the philosophies, Statement of Faith, and Statement of Christian Life Commitment of Southside Christian School. In addition, applicants must demonstrate a commitment to the mission, philosophy, goals and objectives of Christian schooling by enrolling their eligible children in Southside Christian School. Following the initial application, the full application may or may not be released to the candidate; semi-finalists will be asked to interview with a SCS panel and to teach a class of SCS students; the finalist will engage in a final interview with the principal and superintendent, as required by the Board of Directors.
